The paintings of Oleg Ilyin, attributed to the style of abstract expressionism, are conceived as an interpretation of the artist’s perception of the diverse images of the real world. These can be as concrete as the natural phenomena, landscapes, cities, countries, and as abstract as philosophical and social concepts. To all of them he discovers an artistic incarnation on canvas. In some cases Oleg’s painting relate to the various branches of art, their aesthetics and colour palette. Sometimes they refer to classical fiction episodes, sometimes to the whole array of psychological conditions: from ease and melancholy to worry and anxiety.
